This page contains links that have proved useful when researching information about the players who have appeared for Stockport County. Country Wide Player Statistics

The soccerbase site is one of the most speedily updated sites for players and results in England and Scotland. In our experience if you contact the compiler with correction and/or additional information they are willing to make the changes.

The OzFootball site is an excellent collection of information about football in Australia. It includes the Australian Player Database whose self stated aim is to detail as much about the many players who have graced the football fields of Australia, or who are Australian by birth.

Club Specific Sites

There are a number of club specific sites that give detailed information about all, or some, of their club's players. Amongst the best of these are those for Leeds United and Mossley.

Club and Country Records

Amongst the many sites with club and country records two have proved particulalry useful for adding background material. The Football Club History Database (FCHD) gives a statistical breakdown of 100's of clubs' records in England and Wales. It includes a lot of final league position and cup information in season-by-season format with each club having their own page.

The many dedicted researches associated with the Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation work to provide league tables and many other kinds of statistical information on football and its history available through its archive.

Links to European Clubs

When trying to track down European Club's websites we have found the official UEFA site invaluable. It provides links to national associations which often provide links to clubs in their own national leagues.

Dates of Birth

The site of the 1901 Census for England and Wales has proved invaluable in tracing details of players' ages from the early years of the 20th Century. It has proved particularly useful where conflicts of ages have shown up in source material often due to player's losing a few years as their career progressed.
