Born in Stockport in 1966 (just in time for our last Championship win!) my first memories are of standing on the railway sleeper terraces on the appropriately named Railway End in the mid 70's. Little did I know that this heralded the start of a lifelong love of County. After collecting programmes from those first games, this has grown to a collection nearing 3,200. In the early 1990's, with so little documented about the history of the Club, I began trying to contact ex players to make sure that their memories were not lost forever. What I didn't know was that in parallel Ian was working on an incredible database of games and players involving County. With our combined resources we hope to do justice to those special group of people who have worn the shirt of our home town team.

I have been watching County since the late 60's. I'm not one of those people who can recall their first ever match but it might well have been during the 1969-70 relegation season. I've been researching County's history since around 1980 and have detailed records from which many of the statistics in the book will be taken. I was a regular contributor to County's reserve programme for several years - until the research for this book took over. I'm a member of the Hatters Independent Supporters Club committee.
